JERRY CITY, Ohio — A man is in custody following a fatal shooting early Friday morning in the village of Jerry City, according to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to a home on Main Street at approximately 4:21 a.m. after receiving a call from a man who reported he had shot another individual.
When deputies arrived, they located 30-year-old Thomas “TJ” Sager Jr. of Bowling Green inside the residence with a fatal gunshot wound to the head. Authorities identified the suspect as 27-year-old Logan Carrier, who was taken into custody at the scene.
Investigators said Carrier’s fiancée and the couple’s 5-year-old child were also inside the home when the shooting occurred.
The Wood County Coroner’s Office, Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Wood County Prosecutor’s Office, Wood County Dog Warden and Mid-County 120 EMS assisted with the investigation.
The incident remains under investigation by the Wood County Sheriff’s Office.
