TOLEDO, Ohio — A new chapter is beginning for one of downtown Toledo’s best-known buildings.
Commercial real estate firm Reichle Klein Group announced it has completed the sale of One SeaGate, representing both the buyer and seller in the transaction. The identity of the purchaser and financial terms of the sale have not yet been released.
The 32-story office tower contains more than 653,000 square feet and has long been a fixture of Toledo’s skyline.
Originally developed as part of the SeaGate complex, construction began in 1979 and the building opened in 1982. It served as the world headquarters for Owens-Illinois for more than two decades before Fifth Third Bank established its Northwest Ohio regional offices there, leading to its current branding as the Fifth Third Center at One SeaGate. Today, the skyscraper remains the second-tallest building in Toledo.
Reichle Klein Group said the transaction marks the second time the firm has brokered the sale of the landmark property.
No information has been released regarding future plans for the building under its new ownership.
