Swanton Township, Ohio — An investigation is underway after a body was located Monday morning within the structure of a bridge along the Ohio Turnpike in Swanton Township.
Authorities say the discovery was made shortly before 11 a.m. on April 20 by a bridge inspector conducting a routine check near the State Route 2 interchange. Emergency responders from several local and regional agencies were called to the scene to assist.
Officials have not yet determined how long the individual had been at the location. The identity of the deceased will be confirmed following an autopsy by the Lucas County Coroner’s Office.
At this time, no additional details have been released as investigators continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the discovery.
