HOLLAND, Ohio — UDD Tech Corporation has selected Lucas County for its first U.S. assembly and manufacturing facility, with plans to create 300 full-time-equivalent jobs by the end of 2029.
The company plans to locate the facility in the village of Holland. State officials estimate the project will generate approximately $18.4 million in new annual payroll.
The Ohio Tax Credit Authority has approved a nine-year Job Creation Tax Credit to support the project.
UDD Tech manufactures first-person-view drones and is participating in the U.S. Department of Defense’s Drone Dominance Program, an initiative focused on expanding domestic production of small drones.
State and regional economic development officials said the project followed a competitive site selection process. They cited northwest Ohio’s manufacturing workforce, transportation network and established business community as key factors in the company’s decision.
The facility is expected to support both U.S. and allied demand for drone technology while expanding advanced manufacturing opportunities in northwest Ohio.
