GRAND RAPIDS, Ohio — The Grand Rapids Historical Society’s America 250 Lecture Series continues Saturday, Aug. 15, with a free presentation exploring the history of moral reform and Prohibition.
The program begins at 7 p.m. at the Old Firehouse, 24232 Front St. in Grand Rapids.
The lecture will be presented by Dr. Joshua Steedman, a Defiance College faculty member who specializes in early American history. Steedman earned his doctorate from the University of Toledo, where he focused on multinational interactions in the Great Lakes region during the 19th century.
The presentation is part of the Historical Society’s 13-program America 250 Lecture Series, which traces significant events in American history from the Battle of Fallen Timbers through the Vietnam War.
Admission is free and open to the public.
