Assault

Toledo, OH – Toledo police have taken four individuals into custody following a violent assault on a 63-year-old homeless man, with investigators crediting community tips for helping solve the case.

The attack happened Monday when the victim was surrounded by a group and beaten near a wall. Video from the scene shows the man being repeatedly struck and kicked while trying to defend himself with a garbage can lid.

One of the suspects, 20-year-old Cantrelle Henderson, was arrested for a parole violation and now faces an additional assault charge.

Three juveniles were also detained and are facing assault-related charges. During the investigation, officers also located one of the juveniles who had previously been reported missing.

Detectives are continuing to review the case to determine if further charges could be filed.
