GRAND RAPIDS, Ohio — Residents in Grand Rapids are being urged to lock their vehicles after a vehicle was stolen and several other cars were reportedly entered overnight on Monday in the eastern area of the village.
According to posts shared by residents on social media Tuesday, a Jeep Liberty was stolen from a driveway on East Second Street near North Pansy Street sometime between 11 p.m. Monday and 4:45 a.m. Tuesday. The vehicle’s owner said the keys had been left inside the SUV.
Additional residents reported finding their vehicles had been rummaged through overnight. Incidents were reported on Woodburn, where one resident said money and a bank card were taken, and near Sycamore Street and West River Road, where vehicles were also reportedly entered.
The reported incidents have been shared with the Wood County Sheriff’s Office, and residents are encouraged to check home security or Ring camera footage for anything suspicious.
Anyone with information related to the reported theft or vehicle break-ins is asked to contact the Wood County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities also remind residents to lock vehicle doors, remove valuables and avoid leaving keys inside unattended vehicles while the investigation continues.
