MAUMEE, Ohio — The Shops at Fallen Timbers is under contract to be sold to a newly formed development group planning a large-scale mixed-use redevelopment of the Maumee property.

According to the press release, a company called Timbers Town Center LTD has been organized to acquire, redevelop and operate the 640,000-square-foot open-air shopping center, which opened in 2007.

The consortium includes several real estate investment and development firms with experience in mixed-use projects. Plans call for transforming the site from a traditional retail center into a town center concept that would incorporate new retail, residential housing, restaurants, entertainment, office space and recreational uses.

Planning and feasibility work has been underway for more than a year. If the sale is finalized, initial work could begin by mid-2026, with construction occurring in phases over the next two to three years.

The property is currently owned by New York-based Namdar Realty Group. The purchase price has not been disclosed.

The shopping center is anchored by Dillard’s, JCPenney, Barnes & Noble and Cinemark.
