The Grand Rapids Historical Society will launch its 250th Lecture Series on Saturday, April 18 at 7:00 p.m., celebrating key moments in American history from the frontier era through the Vietnam War.
The opening program features Dave Westrick, who will present on the Battle of Fallen Timbers, a pivotal 1794 conflict near present-day Maumee that helped shape the future of land west of the Appalachian Mountains.
“It was a small fight in the wilderness, but it changed the world forever,” the release states, noting the battle’s lasting impact on the United States, British forces, and Native American tribes.
The 13-program series will run through October at the Historic Grand Rapids Town Hall, 24282 Front Street. Admission is free and open to the public.
