HOLLAND, Ohio – A 17-year-old Walmart employee fired a gun inside the store Monday afternoon after a fight with two men, prompting an evacuation and police response.
Authorities say Lawrence Payne III and Simeon Payne confronted the teen around 4 p.m., leading to an altercation. The employee pulled out a gun and chased them through the store, firing at least one shot. No injuries were reported.
The Paynes fled but were later arrested nearby, while the teen was taken into custody at the scene. All three face charges, including assault, disorderly conduct, and inducing panic. The teen also faces a firearm possession charge.
Walmart emphasized its commitment to safety and is assisting in the ongoing investigation.
