Swanton Township — Three people lost their lives in a single-vehicle crash on State Route 64 near mile post 7 on Saturday evening, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred around 7:45 p.m. when a 2006 Pontiac G6, driven by Heather G. Decair, 27, of Monclova, Ohio, veered off the north side of the roadway and struck a tree.

Decair and her two passengers—Barbara A. Wegener, 50, of Toledo, and Kenneth J. Blake, 53, of Holland—were all pronounced dead at the scene. Both Decair and Wegener were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash, while Blake was not restrained.

Emergency responders closed State Route 64 in the area for about five hours as crews worked to investigate and clear the scene. The Lucas County Sheriff’s Office, Whitehouse Police Department, Lucas County Metroparks, Whitehouse Fire and EMS, and the Lucas County Coroner’s Office assisted at the site.

The crash remains under investigation.
