Northwest Ohio Weather: Light Flurries Today, Significant Weekend Snow on the Way

Northwest Ohio is quiet for now, but a multi-round winter system is lining up for the weekend — and it could drop several inches of snow by Sunday morning.

Today, expect nothing more than occasional flurries with only a slight chance of a brief snow shower through mid-afternoon. Skies stay partly sunny with a high around 34°. Winds remain brisk out of the west at 14–16 mph, making it feel colder.

Tonight, clouds return and temperatures fall to about 22°, with winds calming down after midnight.

The first real round of accumulating snow arrives Saturday afternoon. Snow becomes likely after 1 p.m., with highs near 33°. Most areas can expect 1 to 3 inches by Saturday evening as the system strengthens.

The main event comes Saturday night, when steady snow — at times heavy — continues into the overnight hours. By late night, snow begins mixing with or changing to rain. Lows fall to around 28° with a southeast breeze at 10–13 mph. Another 3 to 5 inches of accumulation is possible, making travel slick and potentially hazardous.

By Sunday morning, the storm transitions to a mix of rain and snow, ending as light rain by late morning. Highs will reach 36°, but strong west winds gusting up to 26 mph may create blowing snow in open areas. Any additional accumulation Sunday should stay under half an inch.

When it’s all said and done, much of Northwest Ohio could be looking at a storm total of 4 to 8 inches from Saturday afternoon through early Sunday.
