National Emergency Alert Test Scheduled for 10/4

Wood County WP Seal

The Wood County Emergency Management Agency is reminding residents that FEMA and the FCC will be conducting tests of the Emergency Alert System October 4 at 2:20 p.m.

Citizens will hear EAS tones both on the radio and TV and get a push notification on their phones, smart watches, and other devices.

According to the EMA, cell phone numbers are not stored in a database and the messages that come to your phone are pushed to your carrier and not to your phone number.

If you don’t receive a message by 2:20pm on October 4, you’re asked to contact the Wood County EMA at 419-354-9269.
