GRAND RAPIDS, Ohio — Downtown Grand Rapids will welcome the New Year with a community-wide celebration featuring a midnight apple drop, live entertainment, games, and family-friendly activities on New Year’s Eve.
The event runs from 6 p.m. to midnight and is hosted at LaRoe’s, with additional festivities taking place at Rapids Edge. The celebration is sponsored by the Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Grand Rapids Revitalization Partners.
Organizers say the evening is designed to offer something for all ages, whether guests attend early for food and games or stay through the countdown to the New Year.
Throughout the night, attendees can enjoy live music, a chili cook-off, dessert bake-off, GR Bingo, a quarter flip game, and a 50/50 raffle. Card and board games will also be available all evening, courtesy of GameChefs.
A cash bar will be available during the event, and a pancake breakfast will be served late in the evening at Rapids Edge.
The celebration’s centerpiece will take place at midnight, when the community gathers for the annual apple drop, welcoming the New Year together in downtown Grand Rapids.
The event is free and open to the public, with activities beginning at 6 p.m.
Organizers encourage residents and visitors alike to bring friends and family and take part in the New Year’s Eve tradition in the heart of Grand Rapids.
