PEMBERVILLE, Ohio — A 66-year-old Pemberville man is dead and his son is in custody following a fatal stabbing late Monday evening, according to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to a call at 1053 Devils Hole Road at approximately 9:13 p.m. on September 29, 2025. Upon arrival, they found Raymond Dannenberger, 66, of Pemberville, outside the residence. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A short time later, deputies located the victim’s son, Richard Dannenberger, 36, of Pemberville, at a nearby residence. He was taken into custody without incident and is currently being held at the Wood County Jail. Authorities say he faces charges related to the stabbing.
Assisting at the scene were Troy Township EMS and Fire, the Ohio Attorney General’s Bureau of Criminal Investigations, and the Wood County Prosecutor’s Office.
The incident remains under investigation.
