GRAND RAPIDS, OH — The Rhythm on the River Arts Series will conclude its 2025 season on Sunday, October 5, with a performance showcasing local student talent.
The program begins with the annual meeting of the Grand Rapids Historical Society at 3:30 p.m., followed by a concert at 4:00 p.m. featuring the Otsego Show Choir and the Otsego High School Band. Both groups, directed by Olivia Schaffer and Rebecca Schwartzkopf, are known for consistently earning superior ratings at Ohio Music Educators’ Association competitions.
The show choir’s performance will be among their first of the new school year, while the band will bring highlights from their football halftime show to the stage. Organizers say the event will spotlight the dedication and talent of Otsego’s young musicians.
The concert takes place at the M.J. Wright Pavilion, located along the towpath between the canal and the Maumee River at the end of Lincoln Street. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy the free program. Refreshments will be available. In case of inclement weather, the event will move to the Old Fire Station.
The series is sponsored by the Grand Rapids Historical Society, with support from Downey Plumbing Heating Cooling Electric.
