SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio – The Toledo Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a single-vehicle crash that claimed the life of a Holland woman early Thursday morning.
The crash occurred at approximately 5:25 a.m. on August 21 at the intersection of South Holland Sylvania Road and Garden Road in Springfield Township.
According to troopers, Daisha M. Tisdale, 29, of Holland, was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Impala southbound on South Holland Sylvania Road when she failed to stop at a red light at Garden Road. The vehicle went off the roadway, struck multiple objects within a nearby apartment complex, overturned, and caught fire.
Tisdale was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators confirmed she was wearing a seat belt, and alcohol or drug impairment is not suspected at this time.
The Lucas County Sheriff’s Office, Springfield Township Fire and EMS, the Lucas County Coroner’s Office, and Bubba’s Towing assisted at the scene.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol continues to investigate and reminds motorists to obey speed limits and use extra caution when driving through intersections.
