GRAND RAPIDS, OH — The sounds of smooth jazz and the sights of live art will fill the towpath in downtown Grand Rapids, Ohio, on Sunday, August 17, as the Sunset Jazz & Art Festival returns for its 19th year. Running from 2:00 PM until sunset, the event is free and open to the public.

Founded in 2005, this is the longest-running jazz festival in Northwest Ohio, drawing some of the region’s best jazz musicians for an afternoon of music along the Maumee River.

This year’s lineup includes:

  • 2:30 – 3:15 PM: Brad Billmaier and Friends
  • 3:30 – 4:30 PM: Breezin’ Smooth Jazz
  • 4:45 – 5:45 PM: Jason Quick Trio
  • 6:00 – 7:00 PM: 6th Edition
  • 7:15 – Dusk: Organic Ingredients

Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy the scenic setting, but are asked to leave coolers at home. Food will be available for purchase from the local Boy Scouts, and adult beverages and popcorn will be sold by the Grand Rapids Arts Council.

Adding to the experience, Plein Air painters will be working live along the towpath, creating art inspired by the peaceful sounds of jazz and the natural beauty of the riverfront.

The Sunset Jazz & Art Festival continues to be a summer highlight for Grand Rapids and the greater Northwest Ohio community.
