Grand Rapids, Ohio is set to shine brighter than ever as the community prepares for its annual Light Up the Night celebration on Saturday, December 13, 2025. The day-long holiday tradition transforms the historic downtown into a festive winter wonderland, welcoming families, visitors, and shoppers to experience one of Northwest Ohio’s most beloved seasonal events.
Shoppes and restaurants along Front Street will extend their hours until 8 p.m., offering holiday gifts, specialty foods, and warm seasonal treats. Throughout the afternoon, families can enjoy free entertainment in the Old Fire Hall from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., including crafts, cookie decorating, a complimentary hot cocoa bar, face painting, and caricatures.
This year’s festivities also include live reindeer, dazzling ice sculptures, musical performances from local choirs and carolers, and s’mores by the fire. As the sun sets, the village prepares for the highlight of the day: the annual Lighted Parade. Beginning at 7 p.m., illuminated floats, trucks, trailers, and golf carts will move through downtown, culminating with Santa waving from his sleigh as crowds line the streets.
Organizers describe the event as “A Day of Wonder, A Night to Remember,” and encourage families to make Grand Rapids their holiday destination. With free admission and activities for all ages, Light Up the Night continues to grow as a centerpiece of small-town holiday charm in Northwest Ohio.
