The Toledo Buffalo Soldiers Motorcycle Club is honoring the legacy of Sierah Joughin through a safety initiative aimed at preventing future tragedies. The club is distributing safety whistles to parkgoers, reminding the community of the importance of vigilance and preparedness.
Sierah Joughin, a University of Toledo student, was abducted and killed in 2016—a tragedy that deeply impacted Northwest Ohio. Her case led to the creation of “Sierah’s Law,” which established a violent offender database to enhance public safety across the state. Now, the Buffalo Soldiers are continuing efforts to protect the community with their whistle giveaway.
According to 13abc reports, the club has been distributing whistles at local parks, including Wildwood Metropark. The initiative is designed to provide a simple yet effective tool to attract attention in emergencies, empowering individuals to take steps toward their personal safety.
The Toledo Buffalo Soldiers hope this effort keeps Sierah’s memory alive while fostering a safer environment for everyone. For more information about the organization and their initiatives, visit their website.
