Coast Guard Helicopter Landing and Training in Grand Rapids This Weekend

This Saturday, October 19th, from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM, the Grand Rapids Township Fire Station will host several local departments alongside the U.S. Coast Guard for a joint training exercise. A Coast Guard helicopter will land in the back grass area of the fire station in the morning as part of the scheduled event.

After a briefing with the Coast Guard team, participants will proceed to the nearby open water and dam area for further training.

To ensure safety, residents are asked to avoid the back lot of the fire station during the morning hours to allow for the helicopter’s landing and takeoff. Those interested in observing are welcome but should remain behind the safety perimeter and provide the crews enough space to conduct the training.
