In a closely contested Northern Buckeye Conference matchup, Otsego Varsity Football fell to Genoa, 28-21, in windy conditions on Friday night.
Genoa’s defense was key, forcing three turnovers on downs, including a pivotal stop with under a minute left in the game.
Otsego’s Keeghan Hutton had a standout performance with 200 rushing yards and two touchdowns, but it wasn’t enough as Genoa capitalized on big plays, including an 82-yard run by Alex Spencer.
The Comets remain unbeaten in conference play, while Otsego drops to 4-2 overall.
The Knights welcome Oak Harbor at home Friday, October 4 at 7 p.m.
