Swan Creek Clean-Up Brings Questions to Residents in Henry, Lucas, and Fulton Counties

Residents in Northwest Ohio have been buzzing since the Lucas County Engineer’s Office announced the Swan Creek ditch cleanup project.

WTOL 11 reported hundreds of residents showed up to a community meeting Tuesday night at the Swanton Public Library to voice their concerns after receiving a surprise bill for the clean up.

According to the Lucas County Engineers Office, the work needs to be completed to prevent flooding. Residents expressed concern after receiving notices they say were into the tens of thousands. WTOL reports that the yearly cost would be around $30 an acre.

You can see that full report from WTOL here.

WTOL also covered this in their “Verify” series, which answered quite a few questions.

The next meeting will be held at Whitehouse Village Hall on Monday, July 30 from 4p until 8p.
