The Sound of Music hits the historic Grand Rapids town hall stage Friday, July 12 & Saturday, July 13 at 7pm and Sunday, July 14 at 2pm. This year’s Production is presented by the Grand Rapids Historical Society in honor of Sam Macera – Director, Musician, Friend.
The tradition of Grand Rapids summer musicals can be traced to one man: Sam Macera. Sam spent 25 summers in Grand Rapids directing shows, making friends, and creating memories. There will be a dedication to Sam during Sunday’s show.
In addition to enjoying the classic Rogers and Hammerstein musical, in a beautiful historic building, Friday night’s audience will also have ASL (American Sign Language) interpreters from a local worship joining us.
The Sound of Music is one of many things to enjoy during Rally by the River Days. For a full list of events check out visitgrandrapidsohio.com. You can get your tickets at the door, or by visiting downtown Grand Rapids and Village Orchard at Carson’s Block. Adults $12. Students and Seniors $10.
