After serving more than twenty years as the Mayor of McClure, Dean Dawson recently submitted his retirement.
“Dean Dawson, the leader of our community, whom has served 20 plus years of dedication to making sure that things got done. Mr. Dawson was presented with a certificate from the State of Ohio recognizing his services to the community. May you enjoy your retirement and I am sure that we’ll see you from time to time. It’s been my pleasure to serve with this wonderful individual,” said McClure Council Member Paul Gray.
According to Ohio Law, the president pro tempore of council would typically assume the office until the mayor’s successor is elected.
Two council seats are expected to be open in 2024. Those interested must be residents of the Village of McClure and be registered to vote. Letters of intent will be welcome at the January 8 council meeting.
