Chili and Hotdog Lunch Planned to Benefit Food Pantry

By River Rat Country Nov 19, 2023 #events

To help fill the shelves of the Otsego Food Pantry, a chili and hot dog lunch is planned
for Saturday, December 2, 2023, from 10:00-2:00 in the Old Fire Station, 24232 Front
Street, Grand Rapids, Ohio. Chili, hot dogs and beverages will be available, along with a
“New to You” cookbooks and jewelry sale, all for a goodwill donation.

The Otsego Food Pantry serves the Grand Rapids, Haskins, Tontogany and Weston area
– anyone living in the Otsego School District. Food and monetary donations to the
pantry have dropped in recent months, likely due to the current economic situation.
However, the need has not slowed down.

The Otsego Food Pantry, under the direction of Lisa Ann Hatfield, is committed to
providing fresh meat, dairy, vegetables and fruit each week. Although these items often
cost more, it is the mission of the pantry to offer good, healthy food options.
Local families receive about a weeks-worth of food and basic toiletries and they may
visit the pantry once per month. We are grateful for the generosity of area churches and
organizations, and Otsego residents that continue to donate to and support the pantry.
Monetary donations can be sent to The Otsego Food Pantry, P.O. Box 7, Grand Rapids,
Ohio 43522. Unexpired, non-perishable food items may also be dropped off at the Old
Fire Station during the event.

For additional information on the event, please contact Chuck or Tina Thomas at 419-
265-7936. If you need assistance from the pantry, please call or text 419-830-1051 to
schedule an appointment.
