on and Kathy Munk, owners of the Mill House Bed and Breakfast in Grand Rapids, announced they will be retiring.
The Munks acquired the popular bed and breakfast in 2006 and have hosted pastors and visitors from all over the country.
“We will miss the people most of all, many who have become good friends over the years,” said owner Ron Munk.
Mr. Munk told Towpath Radio the couple’s vision was to have a place of rest for pastors and their spouses.
“We wanted to share the love of Christ to whomever crossed our paths,” Mr. Munk said.
Over the 17 years the Munks served as innkeepers at the Mill House, they say, Grand Rapids has seen major improvements.
“Shortly after our arrival in town, we saw a revitalization of storefronts mostly due to the investment in Grand Rapids by Dr. Shelly,” Mr. Munk said, “and once again became known as a destination place.
The Mill House will remain open with new innkeepers Paul and Laura of Bowling Green, Ohio.
“They are looking forward to continuing the pastor ministry and being part of the community,” Mr. Munk said. “We are sure they will make their way around town to introduce themselves.”
The Munks said they will be spending more time with their grandchildren, volunteer, and plan to move to Bowling Green.
“We have enjoyed our years in Grand Rapids,” Mr. Munk said. “God has blessed us in so many ways.”
