Toledo’s history comes to life in the latest episode of Staying in Contact with London Mitchell, featuring Doug Tracy, author of Times, Crimes and the Tenderloin in Pre-Prohibition Toledo. The book follows the career of Toledo’s Captain of Detectives Lewis B. Tracy, who took on the city’s most dangerous criminals in the early 1900s.
In 1915, Tracy was put in charge of Toledo’s infamous Tenderloin District—a hotbed of brothels, gambling halls, and crime. He knew the streets, the criminals, and the corruption that thrived in the shadows.
Staying in Contact with London Mitchell features interviews and stories from people around the Toledo area. You can hear it live every Friday at 9 AM on Towpath Radio and River Rat Country or subscribe for free wherever you get your podcasts.
